Kobie and Seyi started their lives together as husband and wife on August 28, 2012. I met Kobie in the Fall of 2011 at the Abington Adult School; he was a student of mine during my first year of teaching. We instantly connected through our interest in photography, so when he called me a year later to tell me he was getting married and needed a photographer, I felt very blessed to be taking photos for a fellow shutterbug and friend. He introduced me to his fiance Seyi when we met to discuss wedding photography, and I instantly saw her spark. As you can see, her smile lights up every room…Their wedding ceremony was truly a celebration in the most colorful and passionate way – involving everyone present to join in a prayer, song, and dancing. Though rain threatened to move the ceremony inside, it cleared minutes before we started only to reward us with a glowing, halo of light to match everyone’s smiles. The party REALLY started once the dance floor opened up. My favorite part was Kobie’s and Seyi’s traditional African marriage dress – so much more colorful than the white and black. Love it!
